Tour program:  

Day 1:
Lake Onega – Petrozavodsk – Kizhi Island

09.00 am Arrival in Petrozavodsk. Meeting the group at the railway station;
Breakfast at a cafe.

• Sightseeing tour around Petrozavodsk. Visiting the historically significant districts of the city and the famous Lake Onega embankment. Your tour guide will tell about the history and formation of Petrozavodsk.
• Departure from Petrozavodsk to Kizhi Island by Meteor motor ship. Duration (6.5 hrs). The one-way trip takes 1.15 hrs. Tour around the museum & reserve.  Total stay on the island: 4 hrs.

Day 2:
Sortavala – Ruskeala Mountain Park – Petrozavodsk

Breakfast at the hotel.
09.00 am Departure to Sortavala (250 km).

• Transfer to Ruskeala Mountain Park. Tour around the marble canyon. Paid extra: riding a trolley over the canyon or boating on the emerald lake.
• Visiting Tohmajoki Falls, a place where The Dawns Here Are Quiet movie was filmed.

Lunch at a cafe in Sortavala.
10.00 pm Return to Petrozavodsk.

Day 3:
Shungite center – Mount Sampo – Marcial Waters – Church of Saint Peter – Kivach Waterfall – Girvas Paleolithic Volcano

Breakfast at the hotel.
10.00 am Departure: Golden Necklace of Karelia Tour

• Visiting the shungite room;
• Visiting the beautiful viewpoint on Mount Sampo near Lake Konch-Ozero.
• Tour to the first Russian resort Marcial Waters; Tasting healing water from three springs;
• Tour to Kivach reserve and its one of the largest plain waterfalls in Europe. Its height is 10.7 m.
• Visiting the arboretum with the grove of rare Karelian birches. Exploring the Museum of Nature.

Lunch at a cafe.

• Visiting Girvas Canyon and its crater (the oldest volcano, the estimated age 2.5-3 billion years). Return to Petrozavodsk.
• 06.00 pm Finish, transfer to Petrozavodsk railway station.

Departure of the group by evening trains.
